My Target Audience
I would like my video to reach a mass amount of demographics through a relatable story line that doesn't specifically target an alternative group of people as the initial music has a mass appeal and doesn't endeavor on its own to polarize its viewers. It has a very comfortable feel to it that instead of targeting a certain social class, chooses simply to trigger an emotion in the listener through its lack of impacting lyrics and focus on a beat. However, dance music isn't the type of music that someone like a hipster or many of the members of the aspirant or leading edge tribe would be drawn to as they may be attuned to more poppy music or in the sake of the hype beast, into money flaunting hip hop that is a part of the new wave of mumble/soundcloud rap. However, a look into pop music might draw those interested to Louis the Child due to their other songs having a much wider appeal with radio play.
Because of this I believe my music video will target those in the ABC1 demographic from the ages of 16-30 as its roots in dance music might attract people who grew up listening to older dance music, still conforming to ideas of style in streetwear as its hold over older celebrity style is very apparent. I believe my audience member would be a part of the urban, mainstream and some of the leading edge tribes as homegrown dance music like that of Louis the Child has a great hold over those in the mainstream as it's commercial appeal has flooded into pop music leading those in the mainstream to venture further into the realms of dance music, into more 'out there' sections of the genre. As well as this, Louis The Child in their videos the two artist seem to be promoting a look into more modern style, with a bright colour palette that might deter some from the chavs or sports junkies due to its look into more focus on out there stylistic choices with one comment on their 'Right To It' video stating that "this is like an urban outfitters ad" which is very much the audience that I would be looking to target. This encompasses those as a part of the blingers, creatives, urban artists, stylers, get paid crew and trackies as this style of streetwear has most definitely bled into the mainstream with items of clothing in that style ranging from second hand to expensive garments at exponential prices, from somewhere like Golf Wang, Stussy or Urban Outfitters as a part of colourful skater style.
